We had an amazing weekend! The air has started to turn crisp, fall activities have begun and to top it off, Daddy was home this weekend!Jack and Emma decided to kick off the weekend with a celebratory milk break on Friday afternoon. I gave them both milks, went back to the kitchen to clean up, and when I came back, I found them sitting, feet to feet, just looking at each other and drinking their milk. As much as they bug each other, it sure is cute to see them share a moment like this!
On Saturday, we went to the Fall Harvest Festival at Hunt Club Farm in Virginia Beach. Hunt Club Farm is actually open year round with a petting farm, equine facilities and a dog and cat boarding kennel, but during October, it is transformed into a fall carnival wonderland. You can pet goats and bunnies, pick up chickens or watch them lay eggs, bounce in 5 different bounce castles, climb an 8 foot haystack, pose in front of a tractor, take a hayride, ride a pony, enjoy some fair food, and ride carnival rides. And we enjoyed every single one of those! Oh yeah, and don't forget the pumpkins! We got two.
Jack and Emma skipped naps because they fell asleep in the car on the way home from the farm, but Jack and Matt still had a nice, relaxing afternoon with a PB&J sandwich and DVRed Ni Hao Kai-lan.
Unfortunately, Matt had duty today, so we didn't get to continue our "Fun with Daddy" weekend into Sunday. We were looking for something interesting to do today, something we didn't have to drive very far to. So, we decided to head up the road about 1 mile to Gate 4 of Naval Station Norfolk and check out Ely Memorial Fly Park - most of the planes and helicopters have plaques in front of them as a memorial to pilots who lost their lives in similar aircrafts. We walked all around but Jack did say he was scared, so he wouldn't get very close. I can't blame him, those things are huge in person!
This one was Jack's favorite. It has a skull and crossbones on the tail and he called it the "pirate plane".
What else have I been up to this week? Trying to fill up my Etsy shop with holiday decor. I have a few Halloween things, working on some Thanksgiving and Christmas things, as well as my Pretty Burpies too! If you like what you see, let me know! I'm happy to custom make something as well! Here are a couple examples of some of the things I have been working on!
