A parenting milestone....we might like to forget

Well, this is Jack's first year and many milestones come with that first year. Some exciting like new teeth, new words, crawling...and some we might like to deny. Tonight was one of the latter. After a super long day at work (and no grocery store trip last weekend), I was out of food in the house and just too tired to make dinner. So, we decided on take out - Taco Bell it is! And, Jack joined in too. This was his first fast food. A delicious cheese quesadilla from Taco Bell. While I would have liked for this milestone to have come a little later, it made Matt and I chuckle so I thought I would share! The kid packed it away too. He ate 3 of the 4 pieces of quesadilla!

Date Day

On Friday, Jack and his girlfriend, Cardin, had a play and lunch date. After a quick photo session at Cardin's house, we braved the rain and went to a play gym for some exercise. Both kids loved the big ball pit. All that exercise worked up a big appetite. We all had a fun and tasty lunch at Noodles & Co....while Miss Cardin daintily picked up her mac and cheese, Jack picked it up by handfuls, shoved it in his mouth and got it all over his face, hair, clothes and the floor.

Well, I have been a real slacker lately, but my spring time resolution is to update this blog daily....ok, maybe I should stick with a couple times a week...not get too crazy.
I'm still working 4 days a week, so Jack spends Monday-Thursday hanging out with Grammy all day. Grammy takes him all over the place, a special outing everyday! Today Jack and Grammy visited the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore. It was Infant and Toddler Day, so Jack was able to participate in age appropriate activities like popping bubbles and "painting" a picture. He also spent some time in the little kid area playing with trucks and trains and splashing around in the water table. His absolute favorite was the water table and his soaking wet shirt showed that!

Here is the email Jack "wrote" to me this afternoon to tell me about his day!

Hey Mom,

Grammy and I had a great time at the Maryland Science Center today. I got to play with trains, a big truck, make a paint picture, play in the sand, pop bubbles and the best thing ever was the water table. I really got to splash a lot but Grammy made me stop when my sleeves got really wet. I then had lunch outside at the harbor. Grammy got an ice cream and gave me some. Yummy! See you later, Mom.

Love, Jack
